Flint Hills Resources to Power Corpus Christi refinery with Solar

Second Company-Owned Solar Installation in U.S.

WEB to Deploy 45 MW Solar Array at Corpus Christi West Refinery

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (August 2, 2024) - Flint Hills Resources has announced it will be building its second company-owned solar installation to help power its U.S. refineries. The new solar array will be located at the company's Corpus Christi West refinery in Texas. WEB DEPCOM, a leading renewable energy provider, will design and construct the 45 MW solar project.

The Flint Hills Resources Corpus Christi solar installation will be the refinery's second source of on-site power generation. The first, a 20 MW solar array, was completed in 2021. The new solar project will provide the refinery with additional renewable energy and help to reduce its carbon footprint.

"We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and investing in renewable energy," said Jeff Lange, President and CEO of Flint Hills Resources. "This new solar installation will help us to achieve our sustainability goals and provide our Corpus Christi West refinery with a reliable and cost-effective source of power."

The WEB DEPCOM solar installation is expected to be completed in 2025. Once operational, the project will generate enough electricity to power approximately 15,000 homes. The project will also create jobs and provide economic benefits to the local community.

"We are pleased to partner with Flint Hills Resources on this important project," said WEB DEPCOM CEO John Powers. "Our team is committed to delivering high-quality solar solutions that help our customers achieve their sustainability goals."
